Europe Needs a Trump Whisperer, and it Needs it Fast

Buying into a country that itself is striving to become an independent nation, saying “A” and then days later stating “B”, talking about “deals” and also being one of the most disconnected politicians, maybe ever to helm the United States. Expert have consistently warned that the second Trump administration would be tougher than the first one, some Democrat-leaning commentators even adding that this will be the time when Trump really shows his true intentions.

The row of chaotic measures and indiscriminate cutting of government spending – whether it was about making U.S. foreign aid impossible to carry on in many places or pushing tax services to the brink of unmanageability – is often attributed to Elon Musk and his mysterious minions but what is happening in foreign policy is definitely Donald Trump’s will. Secretary of State Marco Rubio might have been among the first secretaries to get the green light from the U.S. Senate, his face and posture during the Vance–Trump ambush of Ukraine premier Volodymyr Zelensky earlier this month was worth more than a thousand words.

Although pundits and analysts have warned this would happen, these events are still shocking and there is no wonder the all-too woke and incredibly self-sufficient Democratic Party just cannot find anybody to combat this.

What is simply the ultimate reason for desperation for me, a chief editor of a foreign policy magazine here in Central Europe, is that Europe is paralyzed, as well. Counter-tariffs and shrieking about how unconventional of a leader Trump is is not taking us anywhere.

While Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban and his Slovakian counterpart Robert Fico have been hard to manage for the European mainstream left, not getting on with the United States out of sheer impotence while turning consciously away from China will only result in Europe’s competitive and political suicide.

What should be done, then – is the billion dollar question. Well, here is my advice, for free. What a great deal, isn’t it? See Trump for what he truly is.

Diplomacy has always been about not seeing the person but seeing their position or what they aspire to become. Based on this, yes, Donald Trump really should be President of the United States of America. This should be is the lie that has poisoned European top politicians and have rendered them truly unable to react proportionately to whatever Donald Trump has done or announced.

Because – at least what we can see from the first 100 days of his second term –, Donald Trump is the Chief Executive Officer, CEO of the United States.

CEOs are the face of a company. They are also responsible for acting solely in the interest of growth and thus they are poised to make decisions and take measures however serious, to achieve that growth.

This is exactly what Donald Trump is doing with his own and America’s interests.

European leaders just have to realize they are not dealing with another Mister President. They are dealing with Mr. Donald Trump. And they would need someone who can communicate and sense like he does before it’s too late.

Or simply imagine for a second that the President of the European Commission is not a well-mannered politician but a brutally honest entrepreneur solely driven by the need to achieve their goal, with high disregard for formalities, rules or even their partners.

Imagine for example Ryanair CEO Michael O’Leary as head of the Commission.

Wait, maybe he could be Europe’s Trump Whisperer.
